Answers to the questions we hear most from Non-EU citizens settling in Sevilla.
Think of the NIE as your personal ID code, while the TIE is the actual residence card with that code printed on it. If you live in Sevilla and you are not an EU citizen, the TIE is the one you carry.
For any stay over 90 days, yes — student, work, family or non-lucrative. You obtain the visa at the Spanish consulate before you travel. While the consulate takes its time, Gestoraz can already lodge the NIE request from your side of the border.
You have 30 days from landing in Sevilla to book a toma de huellas (fingerprint) slot, submit the EX-17 along with your photos, then return a few weeks on to pick up the card. We handle both the booking and the file for you.
You can, as long as you hold an autorización de regreso — something we can set up so you are free to leave Spain and come back legally while the renewal is under way.
Most non-EU residence types — student included — require full private health insurance with no copays. We can steer you to compliant policies.
